LAKEHOUSE REMODEL

About the PROJECT

Lakehouse Transformation — A Multi-Year Coastal Evolution

This lakehouse will always be one of my favorite long-term projects. I first began working with these clients, now good friends, in 2018, updating their living room, dining room, and sunroom with a warm coastal vibe and a palette of soft blues, greens, and natural textures. That first phase set the tone—relaxed, colorful, and effortlessly livable.

A year later, they invited me back to continue the transformation, updating the kitchen, entryway, and primary bedroom to flow seamlessly with the spaces we had already reimagined.

Several years after that, the project expanded in a major way. The homeowners decided to take down and rebuild half their home, and I was brought in for the entire redesign. The goal: carry forward the coastal charm we had created—fresh blues, cheerful greens and yellows, thoughtful textures—and ensure the new spaces connected beautifully with the existing rooms.

We re-envisioned the layout with a new open-concept living room, dining room, and sitting area, repurposing the original living room into a spacious dining space. The family’s heirloom dining table—passed down from the client’s grandmother—was refinished and revived as a meaningful centerpiece in their new home.

The addition included three new bedroom suites, a large bunk-room loft perfect for family gatherings, and expanded outdoor living spaces designed for lakefront lounging.

Throughout the project, we incorporated as many of their previously purchased pieces as possible, giving everything new life through intentional layouts and fresh styling.

This multi-phase transformation tells the story of a home—and a family—growing into a bright, colorful, coastal lake retreat they’ll love for years to come.
